I have over a decade of experience repairing and maintaining a wide variety of computers and audio/visual equipment, as well as setup and operation.
For nearly a year I have traveled across the western united states setting up and maintaining audio/visual equipment for an a/v rental company called Rentsys, in teams as well as on my own. I was a pivotal part in the creation of a repair department at the local Las Vegas location.
Most recently, I became head web designer for my current position at Dempsey Graphics, a local design firm. I also maintain all of the computer and presentation systems they use with their clients.
At Geek Squad I was awarded MVP of the
store for the fall quarter. My duties included computer diagnosis and repair, troubleshooting, clerical, record keeping. I was responsible for tracking service orders
in shipping and at remote repair locations, creating, coordinating
and implementing action plans for fixing problems and preventing
mistakes in processing customer units, and customer service, both
telephone and counter.
Before that, I worked for Mojave Ampworks, a manufacturer of guitar amplifiers in Apple Valley CA. We repaired all manner of sound devices, from mixers to power amps, old and new. I worked with new and
vintage amplifiers, mixers, keyboards, etc. I rebuilt the company
website with PHP, built on a MySQL database. I designed the Vintage
Amplifier message board, presently with over 10,000 users.
From the old messageboard, I converted the preexisting user database and organized email campaigns.
I implemented a web advertising management system, tracking
advertisers and statistics, and managed advertiser accounts and
billing.
I had an early involvement in the Advanced Broadcast Journalism program at my high school, Granite Hills, in Apple Valley CA. There I learned how to operate many industry standard cameras, control boards, mic systems, and recorders. I was even paid by the teacher to use my electronics knowledge to repair several of the microphone kits that had required soldering internally.
All throughout this time I have been repairing musical electronics, such as amps and mixers for people as a small side business.
